Security Camera and Community Safety

The Cliffs Homeowners Association has partnered with Flock Safety, an Atlanta-based company, to deploy an outdoor camera at our neighborhood entrance that tracks cars and reads license plates. This is the #1 piece of evidence police request in the case of criminal activity, like home and car break-ins.

In addition to providing the camera, Flock Safety offers a feature called the SafeList that allows us to register our vehicles with the service.

Why register on the SafeList?

In the event of a crime, footage can be accessed and shared with the police. If a neighbor’s license plate is on the SafeList, any footage of their vehicle will be marked as “resident”. This surveillance system gives homeowners an option to block out their license plates and vehicles from the footage.

1. Sign up and register to be on the safe list. This means your vehicle will be on the footage but it knows that you are a resident.

2. You can opt to be removed from the footage if you feel this is a privacy invasion.

3. You can do nothing at all. Your vehicle will be on the footage.  If anything happened in the neighborhood we may or may not know it is your vehicle.

We encourage you to sign up for option 1 or 2 but it is your choice.

Residents can opt-out to have their vehicles removed from footage or be on the safe list with the following link: https://admin.flocksafety.com/register/res6666ident/f5e06c5b-3146-4c8d-a3a8-40d7d4cac48f

If you are the victim of a crime, please report it first to the police department
828-250-6670. This will connect you directly with Sheriff’s office dispatch. Alternatively you can call 911.

We suggest you save the emergency number and store on your mobile phone, so you have immediate access.

Then send an email to crime@flocksafety.com, and Jim Hinton swimjim1234@gmail.com  or Brian Martin mmartydawg@yahoo.com.
We can help provide footage reports and pictures for the relevant times
that the incident took place.

Lock your house and car doors and keep your valuables out of sight.
